Muhammad Ramzan Bhatti, the father of Muhammad Rizwan Bhatti, a senior staff reporter of Business Recorder, died yesterday after a protracted illness. He was 72. Quran-Khuwani will be offered between Zohr and Asr at House No A-121 Roaidad Nagar near Lal Masjid, Paposh Nagar. He left behind a widow, three daughters and two sons to mourn his death. His funeral prayers were held at the Lal Masjid, Paposh Nagar and he was laid to rest at a nearby graveyard. He was being treated for cancer over the past several months.
Those who attended his funeral prayers included, President of Karachi Press Club, Ahmed Khan Malik, Secretary KPC, Maqsood Yousufi, members governing body of KPC, Secretary General, Pakistan Federal Union Journalists (PFUJ-Dastoor) Sohail Afzal and Assistant Secretary General, PFUJ (Dastoor), Shoaib Khan, President Karachi Union of Journalists (Dastoor), Tariq Abul Hassan, President KUJ, Hassan Abbas, Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami's Karachi chapter Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman and Secretary Information of JI, Zahid Askari, Chairman Polani Group, Yahya Polani, spokesmen for the State Bank of Pakistan, Abid Qamar and National Bank of Pakistan, Syed Ibn-e-Hassan, MCB official, Kafeel Burni, Chaiarman All Karachi Tajir Ittehad, Atiq Mir. Staff members of Business Recorder have expressed their sorrow over the death. Editor Wamiq A. Zuberi visited Rizwan's residence to offer his condolence.
